Crocs Nanook Shoes Kids

Authentic & brand new in box, Nanook, Kids Crocs.

No matter what city you travel to or even what the weather is outside, you will most likely see someone trotting along in a pair of UGG Boots. I was in New York last summer and sure enough I witnessed a young "model looking" girl wearing shorts and a pair of UGGs. She looked very comfortable and stylish, even though it was 75 degrees out! So, where did these odd looking but popular boots come from?

They were first introduced to Californians way back in 1978 when Brian Smith, a surfer, brought a load of sheepskin boots with him from Australia. Brian began to make friends with other surfers and next thing you know they were wearing the sheepskin boots too. I guess the rest of the world figured if Californians are wearing them then they must be the newest fad and the UGG Boot's fame was born! In 1995, the concept was acquired by Deckers Outdoor Corporation and it was Decker that turned the famous boots and UGG name into what it is today.

These days you can find more than boots by UGG. They have a really cool line with casual shoes, hats, gloves, scarves, backpacks, cell phone holders and you can even find pillows. They also carry a Sheepskin Care Kit to make sure your products are always clean and cared for. There are sizes and styles for men, women and children.

One of my latest favorites are flat ballet shoes named The Antoinette's which are made of thin twin-faced sheepskin for a slim and flattering fit and it has a cute little tie. I have it in a leopard print but it is also available in a solid goldish brown. They are very comfortable and also quite appealing.

There are many benefits in purchasing any of these products other than the comfort and warmth. They are very durable and long lasting. They use what is called twin-face sheepskin which is treated on both the fleece side and the skin side making it very soft. This really helps in the dead of winter as the sheepskin helps to keep your feet very close to your body temperature. They should fit you snug as your feet will mold to the sheepskin as you wear them but make sure they are not tight or uncomfortable.

You can find all the styles and products at some of the top stores in the world. I have a feeling the UGG products will be around for at least another few decades and I am sure they will just keep getting more popular. They may be odd but, I love my UGGs.

If your searching for other odd footware try looking for these:

Customer Review: Great shoes. Wore them to the Symphony performance last night
My shoes and I looked like a million dollars. They are wonderful to look at, blend in, don't look like "crocs" at all. Like all crocs, it took a little time to get used to them, after that you forget there are feet to be considered. Of course, the size is the correct size, otherwise that would not hold true. I wish the cross piece were a little wider, but I think that's because of wearing crocs of one kind or another I am comfort spoiled. These shoes look wonderful, and wear well. So, if you have painful feet like I do, and since the onset of wearing crocs all the podiatrist bills have fallen off, buy this pair for the evenings you want to look like you are NOT wearing Crocs, and don't tell.

Hong Kong society is and always has been somewhat sophisticated. Evening entertainment can bring elegantly dressed top flight executives out in their droves, accompanied by impeccably turned out wives and girlfriends, heavily draped in diamonds and filling the air with the aroma of the finest French perfumes.

The Camus Classic Snooker Tournament was an event that Jess was always deeply involved in as he was a world class snooker referee. The Hong Kong Club hosted visiting celebrity players for days on end, wining and dining them at the very best hotels and restaurants and Jess enjoyed himself immensely, shepherding his little band of world class snooker players around the sights of one of the prettiest cities in Asia.

A sociable creature, Jess usually stayed on Hong Kong Island for the duration of the Classic; preferring to be on hand should his guests require assistance in any way. The run up to the event was a busy time for him, organizing the snooker room at The Hong Kong Club and ensuring the correct number of hotel rooms were booked and double checked.

One memorable year, Jess had arranged to meet with the rest of the players in the lobby of the Mandarin Hotel before continuing to dine in one of the hotels restaurants. Black tie was required and Jess and my mother showed up several minutes before the rest of their party was expected, Mother in a beautiful, understated black floor length velvet gown and Jess looking his usual elegant yet nonchalant self, in his black tie and dinner jacket, perfectly turned out right down to his sapphire studs.

My mother was one of those people who cannot bear to see a dangling thread. Her eyes continually home in on the little scrap of wafting cotton, and even if the wearer of the offending garment happened to be a stranger, she would be compelled to introduce herself so she could then inform them they had a dangling thread and would they like her to remove it for them?

On this particular evening, Mothers eagle eye spotted a thread, dangling from the pocket of Jesss trousers. The trousers were of the formal; tuck fronted variety, with a satin ribbon running down the length of the outside leg. Mother pulled sharply, and the entire trouser leg gathered, shooting up Jesss leg like a rat up a drainpipe. His skinny, white leg was left exposed, along with a saucy three inches of boxer shorts decorated with an alluring pattern of tiny Union Jacks.

The lobby of the Mandarin is a busy place, usually full of visiting tourists, business executives and local residents waiting around to rendezvous with friends for the evening. Tonight was no exception and the place was packed. The entire room began to laugh and the laughter rippled around the hotel like wildfire. People began to appear in doorways to try to catch a glimpse of Jess who made a funny sight with his one black leg and one white, chalky leg attired with a black sock and shiny patent dress shoe.

No matter what they did, the trouser leg could not be coaxed down. The day was saved by one of the visiting snooker players, who ran up to his room to fetch Jess a pair of his own dress trousers. Luckily, snooker players wear formal evening trousers rather often and spares are always packed.

The Mandarin Hotel will no doubt remember Jess with a smile.
